USRP

The NI USRP™ is a flexible software defined radio (SDR) hardware platform designed for wireless research, prototyping, validation, and deployment. USRP devices enable real-time RF signal transmission and reception across a wide range of frequencies and bandwidths, allowing engineers and researchers to develop, test, and iterate on modern wireless systems quickly. NI USRP hardware integrates RF front-end circuitry, high-speed data converters, and FPGA-based processing, providing deterministic, low-latency operation and deep customization of the RF and baseband signal chain. Available in multiple architectures—including USB, Ethernet, PCI, PXI, and embedded RIO-based platforms—USRP solutions scale from portable benchtop experiments to synchronized, multi-channel and distributed systems. USRP platforms from NI are widely used in 5G and 6G research, wireless standards development, spectrum monitoring, radar and electronic warfare prototyping, satellite communications, and academic research. Their modular design, precise timing options, and software programmability make USRP a future-ready foundation for rapidly evolving RF and wireless technologies.
